    Okay - so this experience was exactly what one might expect of a place with an outstanding location (waterfront), adjacent to massive tourist draw (Vineyard ferry) - way overpriced, pretty crummy food served by nice enough but not professional staff. All in all, meh for $50 a head - spectacular location, everything else lousy. lobster pie was a Betty Crocker recipe, way too much wine, not enough meat, poorly executed and poorly presented. Scallops were better, but not a lot of flavor and for $30+, a lousy package. They serve half an ear if corn with each entree (that w the vegetable), each with that nice worm eaten end and more silk than I get when I ask my children to husk it. Look forward to the next owner, which I have to think will be soon.

    I really enjoy the Landfall, especially the back deck overlooking the water at sunset with a fresh greyhound in hand. Service is good; drinks are sensational and well-priced - the only place I know around Falmouth that makes greyhounds with freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. By far, their clam chowder is their best dish. When I walk my dogs at 6am, I always see their local clam guy dropping off clams harvested that morning. Their lobster dish is too expensive, though. Their fish bites are the best bang for your buck. Great place!

    The Landfall is a great place to go for lunch or dinner, although with the summer crowds, the place can fill up very fast during dinner time. If you can beat the crowds, you can get seating right on the water, which offers a great view of the bay. The ambiance is very cool with buoys, anchors, lobster traps, and other seafaring items hanging from the rafters. The clam chowder is absolutely delicious. It's creamy, full of clams and potatoes, and definitely homemade. Don't miss it! The lunch/dinner items are standard fare for a Cape Cod restaurant...lobster, steak, fried seafood, etc. Nothing special but all decent quality.

    I have had a lot of great experiences here and a lot of not-so-great experiences here. That said, during the summer months you'll likely always find me here on a Friday after work sipping on a California. What's a California? It's a Greyhound with orange juice...fresh...squeezed...juice. That drink along with the view from the outdoor public dock are the two reasons I have become a regular here. Why the 3 stars then? Because the food is just...meh. And a lot of the obnoxious tourists and old money summer residents frequent the place for a nice sit down seafood dinner. That said, if you're looking for a nice, sit down, candlelit dinner to take your extended family to on vacation, this still might be your best bet for the area. For the younger, more adventurous, you're better off picking up a burger at Jimmy's across the street or for the foodie a burrito at Quick's Hole and bringing it back to the outside dock to enjoy it with your California. The dock is technically public, so bringing your own meal is fine. Unless you go before Memorial Day or after Labor Day and are strictly looking for a snack to go with your cocktail...they do 20 cent fish bites and wings which aren't quite so painful on the pocket. Go easy on those Greyhounds, their mixed drinks (in excess) guarantee the worst hangovers I've ever had...that's where the not-so-great experiences came from.

    Don't go for the food, go for the drinks. Order something with citrus and get freshly-squeezed juice. Also, check out most Friday and/or Saturday nights during the summer for good, local music.

    We had lunch here while visiting Woods Hole MA. Located on the harbor, the views are very nice. The menu was reasonably priced, with a nice selection of seafood favorites. We had the new england clam chowder and shared a lobster roll. In spite of the chowder coming to us warm rather than hot, it was tasty and a nice portion. The lobster roll was excellent (it comes with cole slaw, a dill pickle and french fries) The interiors are nicely appointed and the service is really good.

    We had a great dinner! The food was delicious. It's definitely pricey but you pay for the view. My husband and I shared an appetizer, each had an entree and a glass of wine. The wine and entrees were reasonable (~$30 for a seafood entree in Cape Cod is what I expect to pay), but the appetizer was definitely overpriced ($9 for 6 tiny baked clams - no thanks). Food was excellent. They lose a start for service. We went on a busy holiday weekend night, but our server was definitely distracted. We even had to ask for water! I would definitely recommend if you are looking for good seafood that's right on the water in a cute little town.

    Kill some time while waiting for the ferry to the Vineyard and grab a beer or wine or beverage @ the Landfall. If you are feeling frisky get some grub, too. I like the fish and chips, it's the only way I kick off my vacay. Service is good, seating is a plenty and the price is right! I like Landfall Restaurant in the little, charming, and picturesque sea-faring town of Woods Hole. You will, too.

    Went for lunch here and we had a lobster roll ($17) and fish-n-chips. The fish was good and hot but the chips were very average and there was an off flavor from the tartar sauce. Lobster roll was served on the standard squashed white hot dog bun, the meat was chunky but the portion was smallish. Coleslaw was just o.k. The staff was very friendly and the view was nice on the water.

    I really enjoy coming here, the food is just your basic cape cod fare but the atmosphere is really really nice. Especially on a warm day with all the back doors open over the water. Its breezy and awesome, a great place to take people who have never been to the cape before.

    Went to the Landfall last weekend and it was wonderful. I had the Nobska Salad topped with swordfish and I'm still thinking about how good it was. There were 4 of us, and everyone enjoyed their meals. One in the party had chowder to start. Since I fill up too fast to do that I got a cup to go and enjoyed it the next day. It was delicious. One thing we all loved was they have a dessert menu with a few "just a smidgen" offers. We had that and it was just enough. I had the mixed berry cobbler with blackberry ice cream. It was warm and perfect. I can't wait to go again, maybe even this weekend. The service was great, pleasant, efficient, not rushed.

    Lousy food. Ordered calamari and onion rings - the calamari was average, and the onion rings were flavorless and under-cooked. I'd imagine that they get a lot of traffic because of their location.

    Here for a course at MBL and came for dinner before it starts. I like the nautical decor and how parts of the building are made from driftwood and old buildings taken apart overtime. The streets of the town are pretty empty. Where is everyone? Maybe at this restaurant, because it was quite lively (more likely, not summer vacation season yet). The food was ok - we had swordfish and lobster. The grilled flavor of the swordfish was nice, though a little bland. The lobster meat was kind of tough, but not bad either. An average experience overall.

    This restaurant is exactly what this midwesterner would have expected for a Cape Cod Restaurant. The interior is fun and kitschy. It looks over the water. The service is competent and friendly. It was our first dinner on our honeymoon, and we were well satisfied. But, most importantly, the seafood is amazingly good. We went twice during our visit. First time, I had lobster and my husband had swordfish. The lobster was amazing. I wasn't even sure if I liked lobster, but since all the lobster I've ever had has spent a lot of time in a grungy tank, I wanted to give it a chance. I'm so glad I did. My husband loved his swordfish, but his hands down favorite was the... buffalo wings. (Did I mention we're from the midwest?) They were crispy and perfectly cooked. The sauce was straight up traditional, and perfect. My husband liked the wings so much that he begged to come back the next day for lunch. Which we did. I had a fried platter, which was very good. I don't remember what he had, other than a ton of chicken wings. He was very happy, though. Honestly, this is the first place we talk about when we talk about our honeymoon. We went at the very end of the season, but this place was still pretty busy. Everything else being closed probably helped. :)

    We were extremely surprised by how good the food was here! Landfall is extremely busy but if you are willing to eat at the bar, there is barely any wait. R and I sat down, had our meal and the couple next to us just got seated (after waiting for more than 45 minutes) R had the Baked Stuffed Lobster which was VERY VERY good. Huge portions and the stuffing was very yummy. I highly recommend it. I had the Parmesan Crusted Broiled Seafood. I didn't expect much but the swordfish was juicy and extremely tender. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection.

    Ate here once. Sat out front and enjoyed some fish and chips. Decent food and service. Also went here for drinks one night. Reasonable prices (a bit more than the Kidd, but then again, I wasn't drinking PBR). It was nice to sit outside on the dock and just talk with friends. I'd go back for drinks, even if I were sitting inside. The decor was cozy and nautical and the crowd seemed friendly and fun.

    My visit on the first day open for the 2009 season went amazingly well. Great service and the food was the best...fresh (perhaps because it was the first day). I had lobster...it was excellent and reasonable priced...The squash on the side was prepared perfectly and was delicious as was their garlic bread the comes for free. I love the view overlooking the water here...however the biggest problem is lack of parking in Woods Hole!!

    I figured this place for a typical WH pitfall with high prices and subpar food, but it turned out to be really great. In fact, it's exactly what you hope for when you have dinner in Woods Hole: nice views of the ferry terminal, nautical decor, and excellent seafood prepared to suit a range of palettes. The seafood nachos were a creative and delicious combination of shrimp, scallops, havarti, and housemade chips. Stuffed quahog is as good as I've found, the fried clam strip roll was hot and heaping, and the lobster chive risotto was awesome. My only gripe is that the beer selection was pretty thin (nothing on draft that night).

    Was here a year ago and thoroughly enjoyed it then so tried it again this year. Had the lobster caesar which, although it didnt have a great deal of lobster, was nevertheless excellent. Returned the next day for the swordfish caesar, again an excellent choice. The cajun swordfish had just the right amount of seasoning and was incredibly tender and juicy. Looking forward to another visit to try the fried clams. Ambiance is wonderful as our table was practically in the water we were seated so close. It was like dining on a boat. Plus the service was perfect. A great overall experience.

    A true New England experience... Started vacation Sunday night with dinner for four at The Landfall. As this was a return visit, I knew it can get quite crowded and called ahead. The host offered to hold a table as we were coming from nearby Surf Drive. We were seated at a table over looking the harbor. The large glass doors next to our table were closed as it was a bit cooler, but can be opened on warmer nights. Eclectic nautical decor fills the space, providing additional interest. Our server was attentive and very sweet. Orders ranged from cheeseburgers to seafood platters and everyone seemed happy. I ordered salmon with watermelon salsa and was impressed. Salmon is only something I'd order when I have full faith in the kitchen, and I wasn't disappointed. Good eats all around! Note: Parking in Wood's Hole is tricky, fortunately the restaurant has a free lot across the street.

    The restaurant has a beautiful view and is the local watering hole for both tourists and locals. If you want to learn about all things Woods Hole, go there in the summer evening and find a really salty looking guy and start a conversation. The food there is nothing special and can be expensive. One notable exception is the fish bite during happy hours, it's 20 cents a piece, and it's really good. That means you have a whole meal for $3 with changes left for beer.

    The location would portend a tourist trap...but it has magic vibe, amazing view contiguous to the sea...not merely "seaside". The structure and decor, which are one and the same, are vintage salvaged building and boat parts.. some of which are ancient. The menu is predictable for the location but the food is better than that nd the prices better than you'd expect. I went to eat but I could see how it may be an ideal location to tell fish tales after a day on the water.

    Easily one of the best seafood restaurants on the Cape! Unbelievable baked stuffed lobsters, seafood medleys, and chowdah. They start you off with this phenomenal garlic bread and even use freshly squeezed orange and grapefruit juice in their drinks!!! Great location right on the water with docking space in case you wanna boat there. Fun night scene too... I just love this place!!

    Went here for dinner while in the area and had a great experience. We got there right in the middle of the rush and there was a pretty long wait, but we snagged a table outside and enjoyed the ocean breeze while we ate. The entrees are pricey, but we got a bunch of apps (chowder, shrimp cocktail, salad) and it was more than enough food for a really good price. Everything was very tasty, but I think you pay more for the nostalgia of a well established, well known restaurant. My mom used to go as a child and had a nice trip down memory lane while we sat. The bartenders were cute and funny too!

    When your tempted to go to Captain Kidd but want better food and service, this is the place. Check out the Falmouth Enterprise for two-for-one coupons for lunch and weekday dinners. We usually sit outside on the patio but the inside is very nice as well. You'll find your eye wandering around to see old artifacts. The food and service will keep you coming back.

    This restaurant gets all it's score from atmosphere and staff. Good people and beautiful location right on the water in Woods Hole MA. How this became only a 2 $ rated dinner place I don't know. Your looking at $30/person with food and a drink + tip. The food was good, but nothing extraordinary. It would be a good date location. You can boat up to their dock out front. It has that feel your looking for in a Cape Cod "tourist" location.

    wow. if I didn't live clear across the country I would come here all the time! we were in Falmouth for a wedding, and the rehearsal dinner was held at Landfall. I was really looking forward to some delicious local seafood and it was even better than I had anticipated! first of all, the location is fantastic; the view was stunning--pink sunset on glassy water. the ambiance was great--fun mix of locals and tourists at the bar, and really cute, kind of kitchy decor. and lastly, but most importantly, the food and drinks were fantastic. loved the fresh-squeezed juice cocktails and my fried clams (with bellies) were super sweet and fresh. yum.

    Beautiful view. Generic bread, poorly cooked fish (we had swordfish and scrod), underwhelming sides (garlic mashed potatoes that were neither garlicky or buttery enough), and wilted salad with dressing out of a jug. Disproportionately high prices for the quality of food.

    This really is a great restaurant, in this very small town. Wonderful atmosphere, but our waiter was a bit expressionless. I've actually been a few times and I just have to say the lobster is always 4 stars. Usually the meal comes with garlic bread, salad and side potato (garlic mash, baked, or fries. We also had a couple of vegetarians in the group and they were very accommodating. I only mention this because for such a small town, I'm sure they don't get that many request, so they were eager to please. It's defiantly one of the more expensive restaurants in town, but they also have a really fun bar and its open fairly late too. FYI woodshole, is very seasonal, so you might want to give them a call and check on the hours, might also be good to make reservations if you have a large group. (which they are more than accommodating, our group was 17 last night, so it worked out well)

    2.5 stars would be more accurate. Way over-priced for small portions, but those portions do taste good. Also, you can get tables looking directly out onto the ocean; fresh air and sunlight will roll over your table, which is great. Lots of desserts, if you have any kind of sweet tooth.

    Going here for a beer to enjoy the view is really all you should do. Or if you are a party person, checking out the bar at night could be ok as the restaurant has a cool vibe. Sorry to say, but we had a mediocre experience with some very basic appetizers and decided not to go any further. Calamari didn't seem fresh and the Quahog was rubbery/pasty like it was microwaved.

    Had a great evening at Landfall. Can't beat the view and fresh seafood. We ordered clam chowder, oysters, friend calamari and grilled salmon. The entree comes with garlic bread, salad and one side. We really enjoyed the meal because they paced it very well. Everything was freshly prepared. Though we sat at the third role from the window, we still had a good view of the harbor. The decor was unique and fun. Very nicely spaced tables and chairs. The service was good. I always asked for water with no ice but servers hardly remembered. The server here DID! She filled my water with no ice the whole time. Definitely a classic Cape Cod restaurant that worth a visit!

    This food is terrible. "But the spot is so great!". Ok, yep. So are all the other spots in Woods Hole. And if there is a wait at those spots, then put your name in and maybe go here for a drink. I searched and searched for something on the menu that seemed appetizing. Fail. I went with quite a few people. We all ordered something different and were equally unimpressed. Even my 3 year old wouldn't eat her grilled cheese and that's her most favorite meal in the world. One guy asked for ketchup. To put on his steak. My fish n chips had almost no fish. My friend got scallops and paid $32 to pick at it. My husband got some $33 broiled seafood platter. He ate my daughters grilled cheese instead. Every year someone drags me to this restaurant and every year I swear I won't eat here again. This time I mean it. "Fool me once..." Fool me 10+times, clearly I'm the idiot.

    Not bad, but not great, and definitely not worth the price. My meal cost about $35 and I would say it was worth about $20. Service was OK. Ambience is OK -- the decor is neat but I feel like this restaurant is trying to be more pretentious/formal than it really is. I wasn't unhappy with my meal, it was well prepared but it just wasn't worth it. I won't be back.

    Monday nights during the off-season around Falmouth - few places are open. Always wanted to try it, but we hadn't had a chance - we were pleasantly surprised. Atmosphere is nice, rustic cape cod / fishing theme - though the buoys on the ceiling can go. The food was very good and our server was very nice and friendly. Sat next to the window - too bad it was too foggy to see much of the water. The chowder was very good - creamy with a good amount of clams. Loved dipping the toasted bread with oil into the chowder. Entrees included: fried seafood platter; broiled seafood platter; and seafood over pasta with newburg sauce. All were fantastic. Very fresh and well prepared. Yummm. Prices were on the higher end, but worth it. We'll definitely return.

    Service was very inattentive and disinterested, food was bland and unappealing and hostess/manager was absolutely terrible. If this place was not in this type of setting with a view and steady stream of unknowing tourists, it would fail, going down in flames. This is definitely not worth the money - avoid at all costs. The view is free outside and is a lot friendlier.

    During a visit to Woods Hole we decided to eat an early lunch here. It just opened so we were seated quickly at a table open to the water. The breeze and view were wonderful. We ordered the BLT avocado sandwich and sweet potato fries. The bacon was plentiful and crispy. Red and white wine sangrias were both refreshing.

    Landsfall is one of those landmarks on the waterfront of Woods Hole that makes every tourist have fears of missing out if they do not allocate one of their precious vacation meals to it. For the money you pay, Landfall falls short. You enter landfall by walking through a small front yard with casual seats for the sun soaking cool dudes and stepping on roads paved with crushed seashells. It was definitely not as satisfying as crunching leaves. It felt more like breaking the exoskeletons of roaches. Sorry. For our party of 10, there was a wait time of 30 minutes. There is a bar for those who want to stand around to wait. Meal: 1) Stuffed Quahog.This was actually my first time eating a stuffed quahog so I have no reference point. It was very bread-y with a macaroon texture and no taste of seafood. Just... buttered bread. 2) My entree was the grilled salmon (you can choose to have it smoke char-coaled) The filet was a small piece. It was extremely dry and fibery and gave me bad memories of eating deli rotisserie chicken. The dry kind. It came with a side of french fries, which of course is always goddamn tasty. 3) The biggest tragedy of the evening was the filet mignon, ordered medium rare but came medium well (2 temperatures grades above). This poor moo-cow's soul is forever without rest as her meat, the very last contribution to this cruel world was just as displeasing as her life. It was absolutely tasteless and took extra effort to chew through. My friend had to get help from steak sauce. He never had steak sauce. The one thing Landfill has going for them is the wonderful ambiance. You could stroll around and marvel at the treehouse-like architecture with buoys and anchors hanging down from the ceiling (I chose to sit under a buoy. Just in case). There is even a balcony for those waiting for food to stroll and take in some seaside view. Well, fine. Two things. The service was wonderful, despite the small awkward moment when the waitress forgot who got what. And they added a 20% gratuity despite the menu claiming 18% for our party size.

    Very decent - good food, wonderful service! I had the sashimi tuna spring roll with bok choy & carrots - it may sound like an odd combination but it was ever so satisfying! The peanut chili sauce was just short of addictive! I'm going to try recreating this delightful concoction when I returned home.

    As a New Yorker I can honestly say, Forget Red Lobster, THIS is the place to go. I wish there were more places like this in NYC. There are, but not as great as this restaurant. This was my first experience where I had some amazing seafood. Fried scallops, fried shrimp, the magnificent lobster roll they had...amazing. If I lived closer to the area I would come here way more than just once. Plus the restaurant is right by the water, giving the place an beautiful view. Service there is also super friendly. This place had made my trip to MA awesome! Hopefully I can come back here again in the future.

    Wish I could have given more stars but pretty much totally disappointing. Server and a food item just terrible. This review mostly slams the service though. Our second visit. 1st was a few years ago and fabulous. Our experience last Thurs. not so much. Arrived about 5 PM, seated stat with great view but neglected for quite a bit of time despite some staff just 'hanging around'. Our server's name? Unknown: she never said. She was not very welcoming/friendly. Deficiencies: when asked if they make a mango mojito she said 'I don't think so. No ever asked before' (what?), brought wrong beer 2nd round & forgot 3rd. Had to go back and giggled about forgetting. When our stuffed quahog appy was not eaten (just awful tasting. Too much vinegar) she commented, we said we both didn't like it but she didn't apologize (which is not mandatory but tip enhancing words for her) or try to make restitution. (We got charged for it too. $4.25. Really? should've been no charge. At their $$$$, we should have been comped something too.), she took a plate off table without asking if finished (we weren't), never asked if we wanted dessert. Our entrees were good and we like the decor but our experience was a bust. We watched in envy how the server for the table next to us was so on point too. All over the table. Our girl should take a lesson from her.

    Outside eating and drinking and I can bring my dog? SOLD! Great place to grab a drink on the outside deck or enjoy people watching with the tables out front. I had the wings last time I was there and they were great! I also have had the spring rolls and they were very good. The sauce was to die for!

    Overpriced. Bland. Disinterested staff. I was so disappointed in this place. Seafood Newburg was drowned in a lackluster, flavorless sauce with oil resting on the top. There was a good amount of swordfish in the dish, but that too was devoid of flavor. The hostess seemed annoyed that we were there and didn't smile. Our waitress was ok but simply went through the motions. A total disappointment and I wouldn't go back. Too bad because the location is nice.

    After a long trip from NYC, we are finally on our last leg to Martha's Vineyard. Got to Woods Hole before 1pm just in time for lunch. Of course I used Yelp to look for a good place to eat while we wait for our 2:45pm ferry. Landfall it is. Fried calamari, fish and chips, lobster roll and fried shrimp. I ordered the lobster roll. Bun was toasted perfectly and had enough lobster meat to fill me up. The choice of sides were nice, I didn't have to settle for the usual greasy fries and got mixed fruits instead. Service was super friendly. Complimentary sundae for the bride to be was super nice. What's funny was everyone staring at us as we eat chat and laugh. I guess not so many Asian ladies comes their way.

    I live in California but every five years we have a Boston meeting and I always go back to Landfall for the Savannah Lobsters. We went in April, before high season, and thought, unlike some reviewers, that the stuffing was full of lobster . Our only disappointment was that my two native Californian companions were struggling breaking the claws and afterwards the waitress said "You should have asked for them cut up by the kitchen." Now you tell us, after we're done. I love the ambiance here and it disproves the saying that you can't have good food with a view.

    Stopped in for dessert on a Friday night in October. Enjoyed the nautical atmosphere and sitting by the water. The summer berry cobbler was outstanding, and the hot fudge sundae was satisfying. We ordered the smaller-sized deserts which were perfect, not tiny, just individual portions. Coffee was good, too. Did I mention the berry cobbler? Omg, now I have to go make my own...     We just stopped in for drinks at the bar. The staff was friendly and working hard to get to everyone on a busy day. We were waiting for the ferry to arrive, had the Sinful Sally on their signature drink list and the Bloody Mary. Both were very good. Atmosphere was casual, decor was buoys and old fishing town "stuff". The service was a bit slow but they were busy & nice. Views of the water was also a very nice and entertaining touch.

    I come here every time I venture down to the Cape. Woods Hole is the best place to view sunsets and meander the narrow, winding streets after dark. As soon as you step into the restaurant, you can hear the lively chatter and boisterous laughter from surrounding tables. The place is usually packed, so try to make a reservation early! The romantic and very intimate ambiance is aided by the constant squeaking of the wood dock below you, which adds to the feeling of being at sea! It can't get much better than enjoying seafood and wine with good company at the best restaurant in town. A true gem.

    Regional cuisine, fantastic views, and atmosphere! Sit on the bay, watch the Martha's Vineyard ferry while dining on delightfully fresh and well prepared delights. Chowder is top-notch and the service a delight. Enjoy it soon cause they close for the season over the winter!

    Wonderful view. Very romantic. Over priced. Best French onion soup ever. Oysters were really good. Would have given 5 stars but my chicken pesto wasn't that good.

    A little pricey but we were served well and we were seated closest to the water so had the view of the pier. I had the tenderloin medallion it was well cooked the coleslaw was a delight i love the crisscut sweet potato fries. Very good for family and group of friends gathering!

    A very nice bar/restaurant tucked perfectly in picturesque Woods Hole. The atmosphere is very nice for a local bar, and you can't get much more local than this. If you are just passing through you are aware that just about everyone else knows each other but you don't get that hostile "townie" vibe. With part of the WHOI campus all over town and the Steamship to MV bracketing this place you have more than just your usual barfly favorites to chat up. Add to that that the Leeside seems to have closed, the Landfall always seems to have something going on. Enjoy a drink n a smoke out front next to the cozy n toasty fire-pit, or take some truly epic sunset pics on the dock out back. The food is pretty good as well, and who can beat 25 cent fish bites and wings between 4 n 6 everyday? No one, thats who. The wings are meaty, crispy pieces of goodness and the fish bites are solid hunks of very fresh fish.(either Haddock or Cod, but Methinks Haddock) If you were expecting mealy and pasty fish, i'm sorry to inform you they only have fresh fish here.

    This place is such a tourist trap. If you can get a window seat, you'll have a great view of the harbor. Service is a bit on the slow side since it can get really packed, but the staff is friendly and pleasant. Beer selection isn't bad. The food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. Oysters were pretty good. As per traditional New England lobster rolls, there is no mayo, which isn't a problem until you realize their lobster rolls aren't buttered either. It also seemed like I got stuck with some old lobster since it was rubbery and bland. Additionally, their coleslaw lacks mayo, but that could be a plus depending on your diet. The seafood medley was small and mediocre. My fries came out cool and soft, definitely not fried recently. If you're dining along New England, especially right on the coast, you wouldn't be stupid enough to get steak (barring a seafood allergy, of course), but that's exactly what a clueless friend of mine did. He would learn to pay the price since his medium rare turned out to be more medium well. Now, this could have been excellent quality of steak for all I know, but we couldn't know with it being so close to well done. I come off being pretty harsh on this place; so to be fair, it's not like any of the other restaurants in the area are going to be any better. It's not expensive to dine here and it does have a pleasant atmosphere. Just don't expect the best of New England.

    Really nice place on the water. Friendly staff and clean environment, feels almost like an old boathouse. Entres are pricey, but the way it soothes the pallet is PRICELESS. I didn't check out the lavatory, but I'd put money down that it's clean. I love the cape, and I love fish, but most importantly, my love for this Landfall is 4 stars worth.

    Restaurant Website has no provision for contact. Hope management reads this and comments. - shrimp cocktail mushy. - Savannah stuffed lobster - rubbery and lacking enough meat to warrant title of stuffed. - Chicken Françoise - freezer-burnt grilled chicken breast over soaked spaghetti. No inquiry from waitress as to why our meals were not touched. Should be called Landfill......

    Living in Massachusetts my whole life might have set my standards for a good seafood restaurant. A standard that landfall did not meet. As a change of pace I decided to take my family down to north Falmouth and ride the bike trail down to woods hole. After arriving we took a quick look around at the options for dinner and decided to try the landfall. From the outside the restaurant has a typical feel, leaning towards higher end seafood. After seating " and an awkward moment where the hostess asked if we had reservation like there were no tables available and then still sat us" we looked over the limited menu and could tell from the pricing that they seem to hold themselves as something worth paying for.. As our dishes were served the disappointment started. My $30 fisherman platter could have passed as a appetizer. My GF's $20 fish and chips consisted of 1 piece of scrod and a half order of fries that closely resembled my kids fish and chips for $11. The only difference between them was a ice cream scoop of coleslaw.. $9 dollars worth, I don't think so. From all the places I have visited on vacations or locally I have not had this same feeling of being tourist trapped. Great ambience, location, and looks, with a over priced, mediocre menu. A few weeks have passed and the sour taste has not left me. Hopefully writing this review will help me get over being ripped off. Reading some of the other reviews I believe most are from people that don't have good New England seafood at many locations to judge against.

    The restaurant really lived up to the $$$ reputation. On our way to cape cod we stopped at some irish pub to use the restroom and drink a beer of two. Bob, an almost retired gentleman from Boston recommended us to go to this place. Coming from an almost retired bostonian - we decided to try this place. It was raining like crazy - finding a parking so difficult. Finally we found a place to park ($3 - not bad at all). Got some beers, shrimp cocktail ($3 a shrimp - I think it was worth it), broiled seafood medley, onion rings, and green salad with lobster on top. The experience was great, server was great, food was good. The lobster was ok. I'm not sure if I haven't had lobster enough to really comment on the lobster or if lobsters are overrated. Overall - experience was great, the food was good. Worth a try - won't go back - I would try something different the next time.

    Classic Cape Cod dining. Exemplary chowder, and lobster entrees executed perfectly. Perfect place for grandma and grandpa...or take your cocktails out back for the best views of Woods Hole passage.

    This restaurant has so much going for it that I can't give it a lower rating even though they sem to be having a rough opening this year. So far we have had blue cheese dressing with no cheese, over cooked puny clams, naked stuffed lobster that was mostly crumbs and dry. Last year there were discernible pieces of sea food in the staffing. It is warmer on cool days with the new windows And there is still the view, the dock, the fire pit and the quaint bar. Drinks are good and the staff friendly and efficient.

    GREAT SEAFOOD JOINT We started with the Clams Casino and for lunch had a Lobster Roll and the Broiled Medley of swordfish, scrod, & shrimp. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. This was one of our better meals on the Cape. Nicely washed down with a glass of Monterey County Carmel Road Pinot Noir. Lovely.

    I've dined at this establishment many time of the years. This last time, I only wanted a Bloody Mary and, sadly, it was not at all to my liking. Too much Tabasco and not enough horseradish - don't think the mix was freshly made. Pretty average.

    I have been coming here for 7 years. Excellent restaurant. Despite petty reviews (go back to New York), well prepared and fresh food and a spectacular view of the hole. Worth any diversion to get here. The ambience makes it complete. Enjoy. Swordfish perfect, bisque not too salty. Fresh salads.

    After a day at Woods Hole Institue learning more of Titanic's ill-fated night and sightseeing the Cape's local flair, my former love and I dined here for dinner on our mini vacation of happier times in a past life of adult times. The decor is nautical rustic theme, and seafood cuisine appropriate to its location on the shore of Cape Cod. The crabcakes were very tasty yet somewhat moist as most restauranters prepare it very dry. The shrimp were very tasty along with my pasta. I don't remember my former love's entrée or appetizer were as he is not a huge fan of seafood, particular anything with bones which requires work for one to remove before consuming. The staff is warm and friendly in true Cape Cod fashion. I believe there is a full-service bar. I rate it four stars as the service is moderately slow as a native New Yorker "time is money" which I'm used to being on the go.

    I found out after my terrible experience here that locals call this place "The Landfill Restaurant." I had the worst lobster of my life here. It was cooked so long that I could not bite through the tail, the best part! When I the waiter asked how everything was, I told him about the rubberiness of my lobster and he apologized and went to find out what he could do. The waiter came back and told me that the restaurant would cover the cost of my drink, and I let him know that didn't address the problem that I could not eat my entree. The waiter then told me, "well we aren't really known for lobster, you'll have to go to Maine to have good lobster." If only you had told me BEFORE I ordered the lobster that it was going to be flavorless and overcooked, then I wouldn't have wasted $35 for an awful entree.

    Not worth the price tags. I got a broiled seafood platter which was tasteless and so so. The scampi sauce was hot and didn't help the dish. My girlfriend got sword fish which she said was good but not earth shattering. Cool place but not worth it. Btw... The bread and butter was awesome

    The Landfall is situated right on the water, a teeny little walk from the Steamship Authority terminal and the main street in Woods Hole, the perfect destination for most people visiting this small town. I have enjoyed my time here over the years as I wait for the next ferry or sneak out of the terminal to avoid various island chatty types.I also connect with an old friend at The Landfall who visits the Cape every summer. It's convenient for both of us and that's nice. When I miss the last boat by two minutes and need to vent with some local sailors and a drink, I go here before finding a cheap hotel. Heavy on seafood, which is to be expected in a place like this, The Landfall offers your typical boiled or baked lobsters, chowder, fish and chips, baked scrod and the random burger. It's a warmer, friendlier space that the slightly grungier Lee Side across the street, humming with summer fun during July and August. I like sitting at a table overlooking the water where I can watch the light change in the harbor and the boats come and go. Gourmet? No. Expensive? Yes. But it's an old friend of mine, The Landfall. Reliable, friendly and your basic Cape Cod Chow. Nice to know it is there when I miss the ferry.

    Great location and friendly service and while the food is nothing to get excited about my wife enjoyed her lobster roll. I ordered fish and chips, lightly battered and a decent piece of fish. I also ordered lobster bisque which I would pass on next time as it was too thick for my taste. If you have time to kill before the ferry, it's a serviceable meal in a fun location.

    The Landfall is quintessential Cape Cod. From is location on the end of a Woods hole pier to its nautical decor and seafood-filled menu. Kitschy in a good way, this place has a great bar and waterfront dining. When you go, indulge. Get the Savannah lobster. Its the best thing on the menu. A lobster stuffed with two extra claws, mushrooms, and a cream sauce. Amazing! During the summer I tend to avoid the dinner madness and stick to late lunches or drinks at the bar. They fresh-squeeze their citrus, so order anything with that. I went for dinner in the late spring last year, before the season kicked in it and ended up getting a two for one dinner. Two lobsters for the price of one!

    A fun seafood place on the waterfront. Loved the small dock for boaters to pull up to the restaurant (and a couple of adirondacks out there for the wait). The food was above average for the type of casual place that I consider this to be. Amazingly friendly staff and easy access, probably helped by the fact that we were pre-peak season for the Cape. Great Father's Day lunch for us while at Woods Hole!

    When ever I am in Cape Cod, I have to visit at least once a year. For me, it has always been a sentimental place because it is where my parents had their first date and fell in love and every year since then they have always made it a point to go back... and it never hurt to take along the kids to enjoy a great family meal whether it is for lunch or dinner. At night, they turn the lights down a little and make it conducive for a nice romantic dinner and yet it is also a casual and welcoming place to be served by their capable waitstaff for dinner with a group. I have to agree their clam chowder is wonderful... but then again I have never had a bad meal there!

    This is one of our favorite places for the ambiance, food, location and service. The lobster rolls are so tasty, and they make the best Shirley Temple drinks - lots of Grenadine and extra cherries. Ask for a table by the glass doors on the water, so you can prop them open and feel the sea breezes while you eat.
